MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12
- Code 10 Drives license with PDP
- Performs routine and basic functions relating to maintenance of community facilities
- 2 years' relevant experience
KEY PERFORMANCES AREAS
- Ensure that the trees are pruned to horticultural standards.
- Ensure that surrounding areas are kept clean and safe for use.
- Oversee the planting of trees on sidewalks.
- Undertake inspections of sidewalks and open spaces in order to plan work schedules
- Ensure that poison spray machinery and arboricultural equipment are in very good and safe working order.
- Supervise the removal of trees and shrubs and pruning of trees and shrubs on sidewalks, parks, cemeteries.
- Ensure that staff understand their tasks.
- Undertake inspections to monitor quality work performance.
- Approve applications for leave.
- Recommend disciplinary action.
- Ensures that health and safety procedures are adhered to regarding the wear of safety and protective gear and the proper use of tools and equipment
- Perform administrative duties with respect to time and log sheets, completion of attendance register
