Assistant Technician (Electrical)

SA Cleaning Equipment supplies and services commercial laundry and dry cleaning equipment, including washing, drying, ironing, dry cleaning and finishing equipment and accessories. We are looking for a full-time, permanent Assistant Technician to support our lead technician in repairing and servicing commercial steam and pressing equipment, including steam presses, industrial steam irons and garment steamers. Key responsibilities:

• Assist with inspections, disassembly and reassembly of equipment • Routine cleaning and descaling of boilers, reservoirs, steam holes and hoses • Prepare tools and parts for service jobs • Assist with stock picking, identification and stock counts of spare parts and equipment • Identify basic faults using manufacturer troubleshooting guides • Read and apply wiring diagrams and service manuals • Follow all safety procedures, including cool-down periods before servicing • Keep work areas clean and organised Working conditions: Workshop-based, with occasional site visits. The work is mostly electrical fault-finding and repair, and also involves heat and steam.

What we offer

• Permanent, full-time position • Remuneration from R12,500 per month (cost to company), based on experience and qualification • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30 • 3-minute walk from Ndabeni train station Selection process: Shortlisted candidates will complete a short practical assessment and a reference check.
