Job Summary
Join a dynamic hospitality team as an Assistant Safety & Security Manager in Newlands, Western Cape. As part of the management team, you will support the Safety & Security Manager in maintaining the highest safety and security standards in the hospitality industry. Experience in the hospitality industry is ideal.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Security Operations & Risk Management: Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing security operations. Conduct regular risk assessments, implement preventative measures, and oversee daily patrols.
• Compliance & Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with legislation, maintain safety files, and conduct inspections to uphold safety standards.
• Team Leadership & Contractor Management: Supervise security staff, ensure performance standards, and coordinate training sessions.
• Incident Management & Investigations: Respond to incidents, conduct investigations, and maintain confidentiality on security matters.
• Systems & Technology: Manage security systems including CCTV, access control, and fire detection systems. Analyse effectiveness and recommend improvements.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Liaise with local authorities, support operational departments, and ensure clear communication across all levels.
Minimum Requirements
- PSIRA Grade A certification
- 4–6 years' experience in security team management
- Relevant Safety & Security qualifications
Qualification Types & Skills
Diplomas are preferred for this role. Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, security procedures, fire safety systems, and incident investigation is required. Familiarity with civil and criminal law, as well as IOD and near-miss reporting processes, is essential. Remuneration
