Detail: Minimum requirements for the role: Must have a tertiary qualification in Agriculture or a related field Minimum 3–5 years' experience in Assistant Packhouse Management Previous experience in a Packhouse supervisory or management role, preferably within the fresh produce industry Proven experience in both production and quality management Strong knowledge and practical experience of quality management systems, HACCP and Global G.A.P. Ability to perform effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel Strong leadership, coaching and interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams Must have a valid driver's license and own reliable vehicle The successful candidate will be responsible for: Assisting with the day-to-day management and operations of the Packhouse. Planning and coordinating packing activities to meet customer requirements and demand. Maintaining the highest standards of product quality and food safety, including HACCP and Global G.A.P. requirements. Leading, managing and developing Packhouse and Dispatch Supervisors and their respective teams. Managing packaging materials and ensuring uninterrupted Packhouse operations. Driving productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety standards, company policies and procedures. Working closely with Production, Logistics and Commercial teams to ensure operational efficiency and exceptional customer service. Overseeing staff scheduling, training, performance management and labour allocation. Monitoring, analysing and reporting on key performance indicators (throughput, yield, quality, waste and efficiency). Maintaining accurate records, documentation and traceability systems for audits and compliance. Preparing for and supporting internal and external quality, food-safety and certification audits. Ensuring effective cold-chain integrity, proper product handling and storage conditions. Identifying opportunities to reduce waste, minimise downtime and optimise packing processes. Addressing quality-related issues and customer feedback promptly while implementing corrective actions.
