Detail: Minimum Requirements Qualifications National Diploma or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Government Certificate of Competency (GCC Mines & Works) will be advantageous Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within the chrome mining or heavy industrial sector. Experience with crushers, conveyors, pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, and other mining equipment. Experience in planned maintenance systems is advantageous. Knowledge Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA). Engineering standards and best practices. Preventative and predictive maintenance principles. Mechanical systems and rotating equipment. Root cause analysis. Reliability engineering. Risk assessment and hazard identification. Budgeting and maintenance cost control. Key Responsibilities Assist in planning and coordinating preventative and corrective maintenance activities. Monitor the performance and reliability of mechanical equipment. Support breakdown investigations and implement corrective actions. Assist in developing maintenance schedules and shutdown plans. Conduct inspections of mechanical equipment and identify defects. Ensure compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA), engineering standards, and company procedures. Assist in managing maintenance contractors and service providers. Monitor equipment availability, reliability, and maintenance costs. Support capital projects, equipment installations, and commissioning. Maintain engineering records, maintenance reports, and statutory documentation. Ensure spare parts are managed effectively and available when required. Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide technical support to supervisors, artisans, and operators.
