- Grade 12/Matric Certificate. Basic R425 qualification i.e., Diploma/Degree in nursing or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- Post basic nursing qualification, with a duration of at least 1 year accredited with SANC in terms of Government notice no R212. Current SANC Registration 2026.
- A minimum of 10 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
- At least 6 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognisable experience in the Primary Health Care specialty after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in the relevant specialty. At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/ recognisable experience at Operational Manager Level.
Duties
- Coordination and evaluation of Integrated Child Health and Expanded Programme on Immunisation. Analyse performance of Child Health Programmes against set targets.
- Ensure Implementation of Integrated Child/EPI/IMCI/VTP services at Primary Health Care. Coordinate outreach programmes in the District. Ability to plan and organize own work, time, and that of support teams to ensure proper implementation of the programme. Alert Health care workers and Managers on Surveillance activities.
- Liaise with Provincial Child Health/EPI /CDC, Surveillance, and Environmental and Port Health, Infection Prevention and Control, Health Promotion and Nutrition, Facility Managers, hospitals including NICD for tests and results when required. Ensure effective management of data collect, capture, collate, analyze, and interpret child health and surveillance data.
- Participate in monitoring impact of vaccination, and disease trends, EPI and vaccine preventable and communicable diseases research as required. Ensure processing of case investigation reports. Evaluate and monitor compliance to National Core Standards.
