Main Duties

  • Preparation and/or review of the monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Preparation of the annual financial statements as per GRAP standards.
  • Preparation of the quarterly interim financial statements.
  • Co-ordinate internal and external audit queries and ensure implementation of audit recommendations.
  • Preparation of risk management reports.
  • Ensure accounting records are accurately maintained accrual basis.
  • Ensure accurate that debtors and creditors reconciliations, including age analysis are performed on monthly basis.
  • Management of the asset register.
  • Develop and implement internal controls, financial policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and manage staff development and performance against the planned objectives.
  • Manage revenue collection, billing, tracing of debtors, writing off of bad debts.
  • Expenditure management.
  • Preparation and/or review of budget.
  • Completion of the ENE and MTEC databases, including National Treasury annual financial statements template and quarterly reports.

Requirements

  • Three 3 year post-matric qualification NQF L7 in Finance or Accounting.
  • A minimum of three 3 years' experience in accounting or finance Environment.
  • 2 years proven managerial or supervisory experience in a finance division.
  • Knowledge and experience of accounting or financial systems.
  • Knowledge of risk management.
  • Knowledge of the PFMA, 1999Act no.1 of 1999, Treasury Regulations, and GRAP Standards.

  • Computer literacy with sound knowledge of the full MS Office suite MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Additional Advantage

  • Postgraduate qualification NQF L8 in Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience in the public sector environment.
  • Experience in the compilation of the annual financial statements through or using the Caseware system.
