Job Title: Assistant Lodge Manager Start Date: 2026-08-07 - 2026-10-31 Vacancy Type: Permanent WDH002485 Sectors: Management Location: Eastern Cape , Game Reserve Salary: R20,000 Brief: assistant lodge manager|eastern cape|game reserve|lodge|luxury An exclusive private game reserve in the Eastern Cape is seeking a capable and hands-on ASSISTANT LODGE MANAGER to join their team Detail: This is a management-level role for someone who thrives on operational variety. You will be supporting the Lodge Manager across guest experience, staff supervision, F&B, admin and maintenance in an intimate, luxury reserve environment hosting up to 12 guests. Core Criteria: Previous experience in hospitality or lodge operations management Experience within a safari lodge, game reserve or luxury hospitality environment preferred Strong leadership and communication skills Excellent guest relations ability Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, reservations/PMS systems) - experience with Semper, NightsBridge or Opera PMS advantageous Valid driver's licence advantageous First Aid qualification advantageous Knowledge of South African hospitality and labour regulations advantageous Professional, guest-focused, and calm under pressure Organised, detail-oriented, and a strong problem-solver Team player with genuine leadership potential Passion for wildlife, conservation, and hospitality Able to work flexible hours, including weekends, public holidays, and split shifts Comfortable working and living in a remote lodge environment Core Responsibilities: Support the Lodge Manager in overseeing all guest-facing operations, from check-in through to departure Step in to run day-to-day lodge operations in the Lodge Manager's absence Handle guest requests, complaints, and special arrangements professionally Monitor guest feedback and reviews, addressing concerns promptly Coordinate logistics across housekeeping, kitchen, maintenance, and guiding teams Assist with stock control, ordering, and inventory management across departments Supervise staff, assist with task delegation, rosters, and performance management Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of lodge staff Assist with restaurant and bar operations, monitoring food quality and service standards Assist with daily cash-ups, petty cash, and operational reporting Support reservations, room allocations, and occupancy management Assist with procurement and supplier coordination Report and follow up on maintenance issues, and assist in managing vehicles and equipment Uphold health, safety, hygiene, and environmental compliance standards Support emergency procedures and incident reporting On Offer: Salary: R20,000 per month Live-in position; single employees share a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house (kitchen, lounge, dining area) Standard annual leave cycle Split shifts may be required depending on operational needs show more...
