Key responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Assist the General Manager in his/her day-to-day operations
  • Ensure the smooth running of the hotel operation in the absence of the General Manager
  • Conduct and compile Daily, Weekly, Monthly reports for the General Manager
  • Be proactive in anticipating guest needs and possible concerns of on the property
  • Monitor the performance of each department, report any problem areas, and make recommendations to improve profitability for hotel operations
  • Proven leadership abilities
  • Provides training, coaching, and mentoring to all staff and HOD's
  • Receives and resolves or assists the General manager in resolving guest complaints and service recovery process
  • Selects or assists in the selection of hotel staff
  • Review employee performance and conduct personnel actions such as disciplinary actions and terminations
  • Adheres to company procedures and regulations as well as standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure full compliance with hotel operating controls, SOP's, policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Ensures effective, timely and accurate communications flow with regards to hotel policies and procedures
  • All Other duties as assigned by the General Manager or Management

Criteria

  • Post matric hotel school qualification is essential
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a five-star property
  • Proven experience in a senior hotel operations or management role within a luxury hospitality environment
  • Computer literacy – Microsoft Office, MICROS and Opera Cloud proficiency
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of hotel operating procedures, standards, and SOP implementation
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop teams across multiple departments
  • Strong guest focus with a passion for delivering exceptional service experiences and effective service recovery
  • Good numeracy skills with the ability to interpret operational reports and contribute towards profitability objectives
  • High level of English proficiency, both written and verbal
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to identify operational challenges, implement solutions, and drive continuous improvement
  • Must be motivated, enthusiastic, energetic, and a team player with a positive attitude
  • High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to luxury service standards Must be able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required
