Assistant Financial Manger

Our client, a well-established player in the hospitality and gaming industry, is looking for a commercially minded Assistant Financial Manager to join its finance team. This opportunity is suited to a qualified CA(SA) who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with sound financial judgement and the ability to lead people.

From financial reporting and IFRS compliance to tax, VAT and financial planning, you will play an integral role in maintaining reporting accuracy, supporting strategic decisions and strengthening the overall finance function.

You will also lead a team of Financial Controllers and Accountants, with exposure to group reporting, senior stakeholders and key finance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reviews and analysis, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
• Prepare and review IFRS-compliant reporting and annual financial statements.
• Manage tax and VAT processes, including calculations, reconciliations, submissions and engagement with SARS.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
• Provide technical guidance on IFRS, taxation and Companies Act requirements.
• Lead and develop the finance team while supporting internal and external audits, group reporting and key projects.

Minimum Requirements

• CA(SA) qualification is essential. • At least two years of post-articles commercial experience. • Experience with Accpac or CaseWare. • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. • Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, VAT and SARS processes. • Proven experience in financial statement preparation and review, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
