Job Title: Assistant Finance Manager Start Date: 2026-08-13 - 2026-11-30 Vacancy Type: Permanent WDH002499 Sectors: Financial Services Location: KwaZulu Natal , Pongola Salary: Brief: A five-star safari lodge in the Zululand region of KwaZulu-Natal is seeking a detail-driven and hospitality-savvy ASSISTANT FINANCE MANAGER to support its finance operation Detail: This role suits a finance professional who's equally comfortable behind a spreadsheet and on the lodge floor, someone who understands that accurate reconciliations and tight cost control are what keep a luxury operation running smoothly. You'll work closely with the Finance Manager and department heads across the lodge, so strong communication and a genuine interest in hospitality operations matter as much as your numbers. Core Criteria: Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Management (Grade 12 essential) Minimum 3 to 5 years' relevant finance or accounting experience Previous experience in a hotel, lodge, resort, or hospitality environment strongly preferred Solid grasp of accounting principles, financial controls, and reconciliations (creditors, debtors, and general reporting) Strong Excel and computer literacy; exposure to hospitality accounting systems or PMS/POS platforms is a plus High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail Able to work accurately under pressure and meet strict deadlines Comfortable working extended hours during month-end, audits, and peak periods in a remote lodge setting Core Responsibilities: Process and reconcile daily financial transactions, journals, and supporting documentation Manage accounts payable, including supplier invoice verification and payment preparation Handle accounts receivable, including guest and agent invoicing, debtor follow-up, and reconciliations Oversee daily banking, cash-ups, and petty cash reconciliations Support stock takes and cost control across food, beverage, and housekeeping departments Assist with monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and departmental expenditure reporting Contribute to annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring Support payroll reconciliation and related accounting entries Maintain internal controls and prepare documentation for audits Escalate any financial irregularities or control weaknesses promptly On Offer: Salary: R35,000 per month Live-in position, with meals on duty included Medical aid contribution Provident fund contribution show more...
