Key Responsibilities
• Technical Accounting & IFRS Governance: Lead complex financial reviews, evaluate technical accounting treatments, and direct IFRS-compliant reporting across operating entities. • Taxation & SARS Engagement: Direct and review corporate tax and VAT calculation workflows, execute statutory submissions, and manage technical queries directly with SARS. • Financial Planning & Budgeting: Drive multi-entity budgeting, rolling forecast frameworks, and strategic financial planning to support executive decision-making. • Annual Financial Statements & Audits: Prepare and review full-suite Annual Financial Statements (AFS), ensuring compliance with the Companies Act while leading internal and external audit pipelines. • Team Leadership & Group Projects: Mentor, direct, and develop junior controllers and accounting staff, fostering a culture of high performance and driving key group finance transformation initiatives. Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Professional Qualification (Non-Negotiable): Active qualification as a Chartered Accountant CA(SA) is an absolute prerequisite.
- Commercial Track Record: A minimum of 2+ years of reference-backed commercial finance experience post-articles.
- Systems Mastery: Practical operational command of accounting and reporting platforms (specifically Accpac / Sage 300 or CaseWare ) paired with advanced Microsoft Excel financial modeling skills.
- Technical Domain Expertise: Deep, proven technical knowledge of IFRS, tax legislation, VAT reconciliations, and Companies Act statutory standards.
