Key Performance Areas

  • Develop framework to guide commercial development in each reserve. Develop commercial development strategies with clear and practical revenue potentials for each reserve. Develop commercial master plans as part of integrated reserve management plan for each reserve in line with Municipal IDP's.
  • Conduct eco-tourism business analysis feasibilities and market trends within eco-tourism industry. Prepare commercialization procurement documentation in accordance with best industry practice and in compliance with public sector procurement legislation, policies and guidelines. Preparation of CPPP draft agreements.
  • Maintain close liaison with Government Technical Advisory Centre GTAC Include mechanisms in the draft agreements to measure performance of each concession. Develop the necessary investor communication and mobilization. Provide technical support and professional management of the entire procurement process as well as the quality and integrity thereof.
  • Research and profile products and their commercial attributes in each reserve. Research and develop tourism activities and facilities in the reserves. Develop products packages and pricing strategies to enhance revenue. Manage, analyze concession performance and beneficiation.
  • Conduct and facilitate commercial resources use in relevant reserves. Facilitate the participation of affected stakeholders in all planned projects to ensure project sustainability. Contribute to the development of infrastructure necessary to implement the integrated master plan for each reserve

Prerequisites

  • Grade 12 plus an NQF 6 qualification in Tourism / Marketing / Hospitality/ Business Management / Project management or equivalent commerce related qualification as recognized by SAQA.
  • Minimum of three 3 years' working experience in Tourism / Marketing / Hospitality/ Business Management / Project management fields, of which two 2 years must be in supervisory position. No criminal record. Valid driver's license with the exception of persons with disability.

  • Knowledge and the ability to interpret and apply directives, policy, guidelines and environmental legislation. Analytical skills. Knowledge and experience in preparing and interpreting feasibility studies.
  • Expertise and experience in tourism planning and management. Conflict management and problem solving. Client orientation and customer focus. Research. Negotiation skills. Report writing. Project management.
  • Communication skills verbal and written. Customer Relationship Management. People Management. Leadership Skills. Stakeholder Management.
