Daily Processing & Cost Control
- Process daily butchery transactions, including invoicing and staff account entries.
- Manage diesel requisitions and perform daily diesel stock reconciliations.
- Control and allocate stationery, packing materials, refreshments, and printing cartridge costs to the correct cost centres.
- Ensure accurate and timeous transaction processing.
Month-End Reporting & Reconciliations
- Prepare monthly reports for management accounting purposes.
- Compile Boxer rebate schedules.
- Perform VAT and sales reconciliations.
- Analyse toll fee expenses and process related journal entries.
- Prepare month-end accruals relating to copier usage.
Statutory Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare and submit quarterly Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) returns.
- Assist with annual gas emissions reporting.
- Support compliance with VAT, tax, statutory reporting requirements, and internal financial controls.
Debtors & Creditors Support
- Assist with the day-to-day management of the debtors book.
- Provide relief support for the Debtors/Creditors Manager during leave periods.
- Provide backup support to the Creditors Clerk as required.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Financial Accounting, Cost & Management Accounting, or a related field.
Experience
- At least 3 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant, bookkeeping, or accounts-related role.
- Working knowledge of month-end processes, VAT, and statutory reporting.
- Experience within manufacturing, FMCG, agri-processing, or a similar operational environment will be advantageous.
- Experience with Abaserve or a similar ERP/accounting system is beneficial.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
