Introduction

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare assembly drawings, detailed drawings and production-ready drawings structural display solutions.
  • Translate design concepts, sketches and briefs into accurate and practical assembly drawings.
  • Produce detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings, ensuring all dimensions, specifications, materials and assembly details are clearly defined.
  • Assist with the development of structural and component designs to ensure products are functional, stable and suitable for manufacturing.
  • Ensure drawings accurately communicate how components fit, connect and assemble.
  • Liaise with the Structural Design, Production, Estimating, Traffic and other relevant departments to ensure designs are practical and production-ready.
  • Review designs for accuracy, functionality, manufacturability and ease of assembly.
  • Identify potential design, assembly or production issues and propose practical design solutions.
  • Ensure all drawings are produced in accordance with company drawing standards, specifications and quality requirements.
  • Conduct basic checks on dimensions, tolerances, fit, alignment and component compatibility.
  • Ensure designs are suitable for the intended manufacturing process and available production capabilities.
  • Ensure all work is completed accurately and within agreed project timelines and deadlines.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy, quality and attention to detail across all design and drawing work.
  • Perform any other reasonable design-related duties as required by management.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • National Diploma or Degree in Architectural Technology, Product Design, or Industrial Design.
  • 1–2 years of experience working in a drawing office, structural design studio, architectural practice, or similar design environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino).
  • Basic experience with Adobe Creative Suite is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with prototype building and finishing techniques is beneficial.
