The Opportunity

  • A leading manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Assembly & Production Manager to lead the day-to-day operations, production output and people within the Assembly Department.
  • The successful candidate will have strong plastics manufacturing experience , preferably within injection moulding , combined with proven leadership and Lean Manufacturing expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily assembly and production operations , including casting, assembly and packing.
  • Plan and allocate labour, materials and resources to achieve production targets.
  • Drive quality, productivity, stock control and on-time dispatch .
  • Lead, coach and develop production teams.
  • Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement and operational excellence .
  • Implement and maintain Lean Manufacturing, 6S, Takt Time and One-Piece Flow principles.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, health & safety, PPE and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

  • Matric with Mathematics and English.
  • N6 Mechanical Engineering qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years' production experience in plastics manufacturing , preferably injection moulding .
  • Minimum 5 years' supervisory/management experience .
  • Proven experience with Takt Time and One-Piece Flow .
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 6S .
  • Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt certification or practical experience.
  • Computer literate, including MS Office .
  • Supervisory Management Certificate advantageous.
  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime and extended hours when required.
