The Opportunity

A leading manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Assembly & Production Manager to lead the day-to-day operations, production output and people within the Assembly Department.
The successful candidate will have strong plastics manufacturing experience , preferably within injection moulding , combined with proven leadership and Lean Manufacturing expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily assembly and production operations , including casting, assembly and packing.
Plan and allocate labour, materials and resources to achieve production targets.
Drive quality, productivity, stock control and on-time dispatch .
Lead, coach and develop production teams.
Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement and operational excellence .
Implement and maintain Lean Manufacturing, 6S, Takt Time and One-Piece Flow principles.
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, health & safety, PPE and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

Matric with Mathematics and English.
N6 Mechanical Engineering qualification.
Minimum 5 years' production experience in plastics manufacturing , preferably injection moulding .
Minimum 5 years' supervisory/management experience .
Proven experience with Takt Time and One-Piece Flow .
Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 6S .
Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt certification or practical experience.
Computer literate, including MS Office .
Supervisory Management Certificate advantageous.
Willingness to work shifts, overtime and extended hours when required.
