VACANCY: ARTISAN – SECURITY SYSTEMS

Location: Sasolburg / Free State

Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract until 30 June 2027

Industry: Security Systems / Technical Maintenance

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Artisan – Security Systems to perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, testing and installation of security systems, including Access Control, CCTV, Intruder Alarms and Electric Fencing .

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that security systems remain fully operational and will provide technical support across various operational sites.

Duties & Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine inspections and testing of security systems to verify communication with the control room.

• Clean, inspect and align CCTV cameras according to maintenance schedules.

• Repair and install CCTV equipment and associated cabling.

• Conduct regular inspections and testing of electric fencing and repair defects.

• Inspect and test booms, motorised gates and turnstiles.

• Test access-control equipment and perform necessary repairs.

• Troubleshoot security-system hardware and replace faulty equipment.

• Install, configure and test security-system hardware.

• Configure and troubleshoot wireless networks.

• Independently gather technical information required to diagnose and resolve faults.

• Work in accordance with applicable procedures, norms and policies.

• Utilise relevant computer applications and technical tools effectively.

Desired Experience & Qualification

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Matric / Senior Certificate / Grade 12

• Trade Test in Electrical, Instrumentation or Electronics

• Technical certificate(s) in:

• CCTV

• Alarm Systems

• Access Control

• Electric Fence System Installation

• Valid PSIRA Grade C registration

• No criminal record

• Valid Code B Driver’s Licence

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the maintenance of security systems

TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

Candidates should have practical experience working with

• CCTV systems

• Access-control systems

• Intruder alarms

• Electric fencing

• Booms, motorised gates and turnstiles

• Security-system hardware and cabling

• Wireless networks

• Fault finding, troubleshooting, repairs and installations
