Artisan- Security Systems

Introduction

We are seeking an experienced Security Systems Technician to perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of electronic security systems across Sasolburg, Natref, Mining and Pipeline Operations on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that access control, CCTV, intruder alarm, electric fence, gates, booms and turnstile systems are fully operational and maintained according to required standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of security systems.

• Test systems to verify communication with the control room.

• Clean, align, repair and install CCTV cameras and related cabling.

• Inspect, test and repair electric fence systems where required.

• Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of booms, motorised gates and turnstiles.

• Test access control equipment and perform necessary repairs.

• Troubleshoot hardware faults and replace defective equipment.

• Install, configure and test security system hardware.

• Configure and troubleshoot wireless networks.

• Independently gather relevant technical information and investigate system faults.

• Follow all applicable procedures, policies, norms and safety requirements.

• Utilise computer applications and available technical tools effectively.

• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, installations and maintenance activities.

Desired Experience & Qualification

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Matric / Senior Certificate / Grade 12.

• Trade Test in Electrical, Instrumentation or Electronics .

• Technical certificate(s) in one or more of the following:

• CCTV systems

• Intruder alarms

• Access control systems

• Electric fence installation

REGULATORY & OTHER REQUIREMENTS

• Valid PSIRA Grade C registration.

• Valid Code B Driver’s Licence .

• No criminal record.

• Must be willing and able to work across Sasolburg, Natref, Mining and Pipeline Operations sites.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in the maintenance, installation and troubleshooting of electronic security systems.

• Practical experience with CCTV, access control, alarm systems, electric fences and related security infrastructure will be advantageous.

• Experience in troubleshooting and repairing security system hardware and wireless networks will be an added advantage.
