- BTT is currently recruiting for an Artisan Assistant to join the Maintenance Department at Richards Bay
- The main purpose of the job is to assist Artisans in performing maintenance tasks; inspections; and minor fitting, electrical & instrumentation tasks that do not require qualified Artisans' attention
Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- N3 Engineering preferably Instrumentation or Electrical
- 2 years engineering experience in a petrochemical environment or similar
- Safety management NOSA
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with comprehensive maintenance program to ensure equipment availability
- Assist Artisans during maintenance breakdowns and preventative maintenance
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety in area of work
- Dispose waste generated accordingly
- Tag and return equipment removed for repairs to Stores
- Maintain all tools and equipment in good working order
- Perform periodic equipment inspections
- Complete all preventative maintenance checklists
- Remove and install minor equipment
- Assist with ship connection/disconnection preparations
- Assist with project work when required
- Safely operate basic tools and equipment
