Assists in performing audits, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards while gaining practical experience toward qualifying as a Chartered Accountant or Professional Accountant.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist with the Preparation of Financial Statements
Support in the preparation of financial statements for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Perform Audits and Assurance Services
Assist in performing audits and assurance services for clients, following auditing procedures and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Conduct Financial Analysis and Provide
Recommendations
Conduct basic financial analysis, identify trends, and provide recommendations to clients under the supervision of the Audit Manager or senior accountants.
Prepare and Review Tax Returns
Assist in preparing and reviewing tax returns for clients, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Ensure Compliance with Accounting Standards and Regulations
Ensure that all work complies with applicable accounting standards, auditing guidelines, and regulatory
requirements, including SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA and ISA standards.
Participate in Client Meetings and Presentations
Participate in client meetings and presentations, assisting in explaining audit findings, financial statements, and recommendations to clients.
Collaborate with Senior and Team Members
Work closely with senior and other team members on various client projects, ensuring smooth execution and quality deliverables.
Maintain Accurate and Up-to-Date Financial Records
Ensure that all financial records are accurately maintained and updated, supporting efficient auditing and financial reporting processes.
Note that the SAIPA clerks will not be involved in audits, they will purely work with the accounting clients.
Desired Experience & Qualification
SAICA Clerk
Professional Qualification: Must have aspirations of becoming a CA(SA).
Experience: No work experience required.
Education: Accounting degree and Honours are complete.
Writing their first board exam (IAC) in January. Will then only start working in February.
SAIPA Clerk
Professional Qualification: Must have aspirations of becoming a Professional Accountant (SAIPA).
Experience: No work experience required.
Education: Accounting or finance degree complete or in progress. Must have had audit as a subject.
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, auditing standards (e.g., ISA, IFRS for SME’s), and regulatory requirements.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in audit software (Caseware) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is advantageous.
Transport: Must have own reliable vehicle (for occasional client visits).
Languages: Prefer Afrikaans home language (clients and company culture) otherwise they must’ve at least had it as a subject in high school and be willing to learn.
Other Requirements: Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate leadership qualities.

SAICA Clerk - R22 000 CTC pm
SAIPA Clerk - R15 000 CTC pm
