- Undertake the complex design for the provision of wastewater reticulation, collector and trunk mains, pump stations, rising mains and all ancillary works to best practice principals.
- Audit of tender documentation submitted by consultants, development and staff for compliance with the Municipality legal and contractual requirements.
- Drafting reports to the relevant committee for projects and financial authority.
- Ensuring acceptance and support of the project and team by the community through consultation with the relevant councillors and development forums.
- Input to policy, design standards formulation and materials evolution.
- To assist the Executive in its submission to the Council for inclusion in the Council's capital works programme and to monitor and control projects expenditure.
- To ensure optimum utilization and development of the available main power.
- To ensure an effective overall service and dissemination of information to the customer.
- Deputising for Senior Manager: wastewater design.

Qualifications Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering NQF Level 8 in Civil Engineering.
- Registered as a Professional Civil Engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa ECSA
- Valid motor vehicle driving license.
- 6 years relevant experience of which 5 years must be post registration experience.
- Computer Literacy.
