ROLE PURPOSE
Reputable Property Developer is looking for an Architectural Technologist to provide architectural technical and documentation support across their residential development portfolio, translating architectural concepts and designs into accurate, practical and construction-ready documentation.
The role will suit an experienced Architectural Technologist at intermediate/mid-tier level who understands residential construction and can work effectively between architectural design, technical documentation and the construction environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare, develop and maintain architectural drawings and technical documentation for residential projects.
- Produce detailed working drawings suitable for construction.
- Develop architectural concepts into coordinated technical documentation.
- Prepare floor plans, elevations, sections, details and schedules.
- Coordinate drawings between architectural and other professional disciplines.
- Ensure drawings comply with approved designs, specifications and relevant standards.
- Assist with preparation and submission of municipal and statutory documentation where required.
- Assist with amendments, revisions and drawing updates throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain accurate drawing registers and revision control.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors and internal project teams.
- Attend site meetings and inspections where required.
- Review construction information and assist in resolving technical/detailing issues.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings and actual site conditions.
- Provide technical clarification to construction teams.
- Assist with preparation of as-built documentation.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- National Diploma / BTech / Advanced Diploma / Degree in Architectural Technology or related qualification.
- Professional registration with SACAP would be advantageous but should not necessarily be a prerequisite if the candidate has strong relevant technical experience.
- Approximately 47 years'' relevant architectural technology experience.
- Experience with luxury residential, high-end homes, residential estates or property developments would be highly advantageous.
- Practical understanding of residential construction methods, materials and finishes.
- Experience dealing with contractors and construction teams would be advantageous.
- Strong AutoCAD capability.
- Revit experience would be advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work from architectural concepts through to detailed construction documentation
