Applications Engineer - (Mechatronics / Mechanical)

Introduction

A leading organisation in the materials handling industry is looking for a Applications Engineer to join their technical team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineer who enjoys combining technical engineering with customer engagement, solution development and project coordination.

The successful candidate will work closely with customers, sales, engineering and R&D teams to understand technical requirements and develop practical, efficient materials-handling solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyse customer requirements and develop appropriate technical solutions.

• Provide technical support and guidance to customers and internal sales teams.

• Design, configure and test customised materials-handling systems.

• Collaborate with engineering and R&D teams on new products and applications.

• Identify opportunities to improve existing products and solutions based on customer and market feedback.

• Assist with project planning, coordination and implementation.

• Prepare technical specifications, proposals, drawings and supporting documentation.

• Provide product training and technical guidance to customers and users.

• Ensure solutions meet required technical, operational and customer specifications.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• BEng/BSc/BTech in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.

• 2–3+ years' experience in Applications Engineering, Technical Engineering, Project Engineering or a similar role.

• Experience within materials handling, automation, manufacturing, industrial equipment or related engineering environments will be highly advantageous.

• Exposure to PLC programming, robotics and industrial automation would be advantageous.

• Proficiency in German will be advantageous.

Package & Remuneration

R420 000 CTC - R520 000 CTC (Negotiable depending on experience)
