Applications Specialist - General Industry (Pumps and Valves) required for our global OEM situated on the East Rand.  Candidates must present with a relevant diploma as well as a minimum of 5 years' sales engineering experience within the pump, valve or related industries. Duties & Responsibilities

Purpose of Role: The position reports to Market Area Manager – General Industry and is responsible for selection, quoting, troubleshooting and promoting all the Client’s Pumps and Valves products to domestic and international sales channels. All activities will be focused to expand The Client’s Pumps and Valves product market share into key growth markets in Africa. Build and maintain customer relationships through site visits, technical consultations and tailored presentations, ensuring commitments are understood and met. Coordinate project delivery by tracking milestones, supporting corrective actions, maintaining accurate system data, and contributing to marketing and customer outreach initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare engineered proposals tailored to customer requirements.

• Interact with customers to confirm project needs and requirements.

• Review status of deliverables and initiate corrective actions.

• Assist customers with feasibility studies for proposed systems.

• Coordinate project activities to meet delivery and performance milestones.

• Establish and maintain long-term customers relationships.

• Record and maintain accurate customers contact data.

• Support marketing functions, including attending trade shows and exhibitions.

• Provide presales technical assistance and product education.

• Conduct site evaluations and resolve installation-related pump issues.

• In addition to these functions, you are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required.

Education

• Technical and / or Commercial Degree / Diploma.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ sale engineering experience within the pump, valve or related industries.

• Indepth technical knowledge of pumps, valves and associated systems.

• Experience with pumping selection software.

Requirements

• Strong application knowledge across Life Science, Industrial Water Treatment, tooling machines, paper and pulp, surface treatment, industrial heating and cooling, steam, het and boiler systems.

• Proven ability to prepare, compile, review and successfully finalise tender documentation in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.

• Demonstrated Key Account Management experience.

• Proficiency in SAP
