Appliance Technician Wanted

HANDYMAN / FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANLocation: Durban, KwaZulu-NatalThe successful candidate must be comfortable working within professional, industrial and pharmaceutical environments, where safety, housekeeping, quality of workmanship and adherence to site procedures are important.Key Responsibilities- General building and facilities maintenance- Plumbing repairs and minor installations- Basic electrical repairs and fault finding within level of competency- Painting, patching and finishing work- Carpentry and general repairs- Minor tiling, masonry and concrete repairs- Repair and installation of doors, locks, handles and fittings- Installation of shelving, fixtures and equipment- Minor fabrication and mechanical repairs where competent- Preventative maintenance inspections- Identification and reporting of maintenance defects- Assisting with breakdowns and urgent maintenance requests- Assisting with small installations and maintenance projects- Maintaining tools and equipment in good condition- Keeping work areas clean and compliant with client requirements- Completing maintenance/job documentation when required- Working closely with Planetric management and client representativesMinimum Requirements- Proven experience in handyman, building maintenance, facilities maintenance or a similar technical role- Good general knowledge of plumbing and building maintenance- Basic electrical knowledge- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and correctly- Good fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills- Ability to work independently with limited supervision- High standard of workmanship- Good communication skills- Reliable, punctual and responsible- Professional appearance and conduct- Ability to work within strict client site rules and procedures- Willingness to work overtime or attend urgent maintenance requirements when reasonably requiredStrong AdvantagePreference will be given to candidates with experience in:- Pharmaceutical or manufacturing facilities- Industrial plants and warehouses- Commercial facilities maintenance- Electrical maintenance- Plumbing- Welding and light fabrication- Carpentry- Building repairs- Preventative maintenance programmes- Health and safety proceduresA valid driver's licence is strongly preferred.Candidates who have their own reliable transport will have an additional advantage.RemunerationMarket-related basic salary based on experience and technical ability.Candidates with strong multi-trade skills and proven industrial or pharmaceutical maintenance experience may qualify for a higher package.How to ApplyPlease submit your CV together with:- Current or most recent salary- Expected salary- Notice period / availability- Driver's licence status- Summary of plumbing, electrical, building and maintenance experienceEmail: info@planetric.co.za
