Introduction

We are looking for an experienced  Delphi Developer  to join an exciting application-modernisation project. You will help extend an established Delphi application by developing API endpoints that enable modern, web-native applications to integrate with the existing platform.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on developer who enjoys working with Delphi, APIs, system integration and application modernisation.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain applications using Delphi/Object Pascal.
  • Design, build and test RESTful API endpoints.
  • Integrate APIs with existing application functionality and databases.
  • Review and enhance existing Delphi code.
  • Troubleshoot application, API and integration issues.
  • Implement secure and reliable integration solutions.
  • Document APIs and technical changes.
  • Work closely with developers and other technical stakeholders.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Essential Requirements

  • Strong commercial Delphi/Object Pascal development experience.
  • Practical experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience working with established or legacy Delphi applications.
  • Good knowledge of JSON, HTTP and system integration.
  • Strong SQL and relational database skills.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
  • Experience with source control tools such as Git.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.

Advantageous Skills

  • Experience with Delphi API frameworks such as Horse, DataSnap, RAD Server, WebBroker or DelphiMVCFramework.
  • Knowledge of Swagger/OpenAPI, OAuth or JWT.
  • Experience modernising legacy applications.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, CI/CD or web development technologies.
