- Recognise disease manifestation in poultry.
- Evaluate husbandry and biosecurity practices aimed at preventing disease in poultry.
- Evaluate the storage and administration of vaccines to poultry.
- Sampling of poultry for bacterial and viral diseases.
- Routine biosecurity and welfare audits on production sites.
- Routine lesion scoring and post mortems.
- Evaluate feed and water quality
- Provide reports on farm visit findings.
- Administration of export registered and HPAI vaccinated facilities
- Collect routine surveillance samples on HPAI vaccinated farms weekly and monthly if relevant.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma in Animal Health.
- Registered with the South African Veterinary Council SAVC as an Animal Health Technician.
Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years in broiler management.
Proven experience within
- Poultry production or similar animal background
- Agriculture environment
Technical Competencies
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid code B Driver's license
