Job & Company description
Join a leading Southern African integrated poultry producer operating within a high-volume food manufacturing environment. The business has a strong focus on operational efficiency, safety, plant reliability and continuous improvement, providing an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to the performance of a complex processing operation.
Support the Engineering Manager in driving plant reliability, equipment uptime and operational efficiency. Manage ammonia refrigeration and key utilities, maintenance activities, CAPEX projects and engineering budgets. Lead root cause analysis, equipment improvements and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with the OHS Act. Mentor engineering and maintenance teams and collaborate closely with Production, SHEQ and suppliers.
Job Experience and Skills Required
- BEng, BSc Engineering, BTech or equivalent qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with a GCC Factories essential.
- Minimum 3 years' engineering and maintenance experience within poultry, food manufacturing or FMCG, preferably within a high-volume processing environment.
- Strong practical experience with ammonia refrigeration, plant utilities, maintenance, equipment reliability and OEE improvement.
- Proven experience in CAPEX projects, maintenance budgets, root cause analysis, continuous improvement and OHS Act compliance.
- Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, with experience managing or supporting foremen, artisans and engineering/maintenance teams.
