- AI systems & agent-building: Designs, builds and iterates the AI agents and workflows that run the brand's marketing inside the Marketing AI system - not just directing an existing system, but constructing and refining it. Extends this beyond content and campaign production to the operational side of the role itself: building agentic workflows - not manual processes or one-off automations - that make reporting, admin, approvals and day-to-day coordination run smoother and faster. Owns quality control on all AI-generated output before it goes external.
- Brand voice & copywriting: Owns tone-of-voice consistency across every channel and format. Uses the Marketing AI system's tooling to generate copy, drawing on approved copy documents and signed-off CI and brand guidelines, and signs off all copy for campaigns, social, web, sales collateral and internal comms before it's used. Maintains the reference material that trains the AI agents to write in-brand.
- SEO, AEO & website: Runs on-page SEO and keeps website content accurate and current. Creates blog and website content structured specifically for AEO - written and formatted to be easily surfaced and cited by AI answer engines - alongside testing and improving how those engines represent the brand. Tracks organic traffic and ranking performance as part of ongoing KPI reporting.
- PR, thought leadership & long-form content: Sources and shapes thought leadership - SME and leadership interviews, LinkedIn articles, award submissions and case studies. Owns the newsletter and long-form editorial calendar.
- Production & outsourced resource management: Books and briefs the outsourced content creator and plans shoot schedules with the outsourced videographer. Reviews raw and edited content for brand fit before publishing. Tracks outsourced spend against budget.
- Comms approval: Final reviewer of all outward-facing and internal comms for the brand before publication.
- Social scheduling & posting: Owns the content calendar and posting cadence across all social channels. Briefs all content into the Marketing AI system, which drafts, queues and schedules posts. Tracks growth across all channels - followers, engagement and reach. Being upskilled toward managing paid social spend directly.
- Community management, inbox & reviews: Owns inbound DMs, comments, shared-inbox queries and public review responses across the brand. Being upskilled toward AI-assisted triage and response drafting. Escalates anything sensitive rather than handling it solo.
- New vertical & new-business marketing: Identifies and pursues marketing opportunities in new verticals and new business, and builds collateral to support pitches.
- Partnership collaboration: Co-develops OEM co-marketing and cross-group partnership opportunities alongside the Head of Marketing.
- Client retention marketing: Supports the sales/BD motion with case studies, campaigns and collateral for winning and retaining global clients.
- CSR/incentive funding activation: Identifies opportunities within existing client relationships to activate CSR or employee-initiative funding into live CX campaigns.
- Lead Gen Funnel: Owns culture comms feeding CX's recruitment funnel. Builds nurture content for warm leads not yet ready to convert, and win-back campaigns for lapsed leads.
- Internal comms. Owns the internal comms calendar and content for Ignition CX, coordinating with EX, and other parts of the business on major announcements EX retains sign-off on employee lifecycle comms.
Requirements
- A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications or a related field is an advantage, but equivalent hands-on experience is equally valued and will not be treated as a lesser path into this role.
Experience
- Experience working across multiple channels and formats in one role is more relevant here than depth in a single specialism, given the breadth this role covers, built through doing the work directly, not only directing others who did it. This must be paired with genuine, hands-on fluency in AI tools, not passing familiarity: real experience directing or building AI agents/workflows, a track record of AI-assisted work done.
SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES
- Directing and building agentic AI workflows - not just prompting, but constructing, refining and maintaining multi-step AI agents across both marketing production and internal operational processes such as reporting, admin and approvals.
- Quality judgement on AI-generated output - knowing when AI-drafted copy, content or campaign material is genuinely ready to publish versus needs human correction, before it goes external.
- AEO-structured content writing - producing blog and web content specifically formatted to be surfaced and cited by AI answer engines, distinct from traditional on-page SEO.
- Social channel growth management - running a content calendar and posting cadence across multiple platforms while tracking follower, engagement and reach growth, with a path toward managing paid social spend directly.
- Community, inbox and public review management, including sound judgement on what requires escalation versus independent handling.
- Outsourced production management within an approved spend threshold - briefing and coordinating content creator and videographer resources against budget.
DIGITAL AND AI FLUENCY
- At Ignition Group, digital and AI fluency is not a nice-to-have — it is a core performance requirement for every role, at every level. As AI and automation reshape how work gets done, the ability to work confidently and responsibly alongside these tools is as fundamental as any technical or professional skill.
What this means in practice
- Digital fluency — navigating and using digital platforms, tools, and systems relevant to your role with confidence and competence
- AI tool adoption — actively using approved AI productivity tools e.g., Microsoft Copilot/Claude/CodeX to improve the quality, accuracy, and efficiency of your work
- Data literacy — reading, interpreting, and applying data and AI-generated outputs to make better decisions, not replacing your judgement but sharpening it
- Automation awareness — recognising tasks and processes that can be improved through automation, and contributing to those improvements
- Learning agility — staying curious, upskilling continuously, and adapting as tools and practices evolve
- Responsible and ethical AI use — understanding data privacy obligations, the limits of AI-generated content, and applying sound human judgement at all times
