AI Analytics Internal Auditor

Our client is seeking an analytical and forward-thinking AI Analytics Internal Auditor to leverage data analytics, automation, and emerging AI capabilities to strengthen audit processes and support informed business decisions. This role is suited to an experienced data professional with strong technical skills, sound risk awareness, and the ability to translate complex findings into practical business insights.

Qualifications

• Degree in Commerce, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Informatics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or equivalent.

Experience

• Minimum 6 years work experience, 3 years working experience as a data analyst or business data analyst and 1 years working experience as an AI Builder.

Responsibilities

• Apply data analytics and AI-enabled techniques to support internal audit activities and identify potential risks and control weaknesses.
• Extract, analyse, and interpret data from multiple sources to identify trends, anomalies, and areas requiring further investigation.
• Develop and maintain data queries, analytical models, dashboards, and reports.
• Use tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, DAX, IDEA, R, and/or Python to support audit and business requirements.
• Support data warehousing, ETL processes, and data visualisation initiatives.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations in clear, accessible language to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Assess the effectiveness and performance of AI and analytics solutions within an audit environment.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to develop practical, client-centric solutions.
• Apply sound risk and control principles when evaluating processes, systems, and analytical outputs.
• Manage competing priorities, project deliverables, and deadlines effectively.

Requirements

• Matric certificate.
• Degree in Commerce, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Informatics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of overall work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst.
• At least 1 year of experience as an AI Builder.
• Strong knowledge of data analysis, SQL, data visualisation, reporting, data warehousing, and ETL.
• Practical experience with one or more relevant analytics tools, including Excel, Power BI, DAX, IDEA, R, or Python.
• Sound understanding of risk management and internal controls.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage projects, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
• Confidence in presenting technical findings to stakeholders with varying levels of technical expertise.
