Purpose

  • The purpose of this 12 months internship programme is to provide students with opportunity to acquire wok experience in the broadcasting field. This is an exciting opportunity for those with a Marketing / Communications / Sales qualification who are willing to learn and grow into being an Administrative Officer in Marketing. The Administrative Officer is an integral part of the sales and marketing team, to promote and implement marketing projects and assist in developing marketing strategies aimed at optimal utilization of broadcast facilities by supporting expansion and growth of Technology services and facilities that will impact in the generation of revenue for the Technology division.

About the Team

  • The Facilities Sales and Marketing department falls under the Technology division and services both Radio and Regional Technology Operations RRTO and TV and OB Technology Operations TOTO departments.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

  • Initiating promotional strategies and managing Technology events and promotions.
  • Updating of exhibits, displays and promotional material and imaging of facilities and services.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and service providers.
  • Monitor, evaluate and manage promotional activities, taking corrective actions when required.
  • Drive compelling campaigns through marketing initiatives for internal and external clients, analyse the impact of these marketing campaigns and prepare measurement reports.
  • Update the website on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of information to public and media and effective utilization of SABC Internet Web and Intranet space to promote commercial use of SABC facilities/ studios.
  • Update and maintain client database displaying key information to support Technology decision-making.
  • Processing all financial and general administration related to marketing.
  • Arrange and organize meetings, workshops, events, conferences etc.

INHERENT/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant National diploma/degree in Marketing / Communications / Sales NQF 6

KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team and lead the team if required.
  • Well organized, detail-oriented with excellent project management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office, i.e., Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle conflict.
  • Creative solutions and interesting concepts.
  • Customer Service orientated and ability to establish and maintain relationships.
  • Quality orientated with attention to detail.
