A well-established Accounting Firm is looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on accounting professional with strong SME accounting and tax experience who enjoys working closely with clients and leading a small team
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a team of 5 accounting staff members
- Manage a portfolio of SME clients
- Full accounting function up to Independent Review level
- Prepare and review monthly and annual financial statements
- Perform accounting and financial reporting for individuals, companies, trusts and SMEs
- Prepare and submit SARS tax returns via eFiling
- Handle individual and company income tax submissions
- Assist clients with tax compliance and SARS-related queries
- Review accounting work completed by junior staff
- Ensure accurate and timely VAT, PAYE and other relevant tax submissions
- Prepare management accounts and financial reports
- Assist with budgeting, cash flow and financial analysis where required
- Liaise directly with clients and provide accounting and tax guidance
- Ensure all client work complies with relevant accounting and tax legislation
- Manage deadlines and ensure the team delivers work accurately and on time
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Relevant BCom Accounting / Finance or equivalent qualification
- Tax Practitioner status is essential
- Minimum 5 years' experience within an Accounting Practice/Firm
- Strong experience working with SME clients
- Experience with individual and company tax submissions on SARS eFiling
- Strong accounting experience up to Independent Review level
