Desired experience and qualifications

  • Good communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
  • Experience processing accounts up to Trial Balance.
  • Experience in an accounting practice or similar environment.
  • Proficient in Sage and/or Winfin or similar accounting software.
  • Computer literate with strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure.

Duties and Responsibilities will include

Accounting & Bookkeeping

  • Capture and process source documents using accounting software.
  • Process monthly accounting transactions up to Trial Balance.
  • Capture and reconcile cashbooks.
  • Allocate transactions to the correct general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timeous processing of financial information.

Debtors & Creditors

  • Process debtors' and creditors' transactions.
  • Capture supplier invoices and supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile debtor, creditor, supplier and bank accounts.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Prepare invoices, receipts and payment reconciliations.

Tax & Payroll Administration

  • Assist with payroll administration.
  • Prepare and submit EMP201 returns.
  • Prepare and submit VAT201 returns.
  • Process SARS eFiling submissions.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare financial reports and spreadsheets.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
  • Ensure accurate processing of standard-rated and zero-rated sales transactions.

General Administration

  • Maintain electronic filing and cloud-based record-keeping systems.
  • Process petty cash and employee expense claims.
  • Provide general accounting and administrative support to the accountants.
