Role Overview
The Accountant serves as the organization's financial nerve center, ensuring absolute fiscal integrity and regulatory compliance within a demanding motor industry environment. This role is fundamental to maintaining the accuracy of the multinational’s global financial reporting, providing the precise consolidated data required for high-level decision-making.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
- Financial Integrity: Coordinating accounting functions, preparing financial analyses, and maintaining/reconciling general ledger accounts.
- Reporting & Consolidation: Preparing consolidated financial reports from various branches and subsidiaries to ensure global reporting precision.
- Compliance & Tax: Preparing tax returns and ensuring adherence to IFRS; investigating audit findings and resolving issues of non-compliance.
- Operational Support: Assisting with annual audit preparations, monitoring budgets, and contributing to the development of new accounting systems and procedures.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Requirements & Attributes
- Education: Matric or higher; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CA(SA) qualification
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the motor industry.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced MS Office skills; deep working knowledge of South African Tax Laws and IFRS.
- Licensing: Valid Code 8 Driver’s License.
- Attributes: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to anticipating fiscal requirements.
