About the Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented  Accountant to join our client's team within the citrus export industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key financial accounting functions, including reconciliations, producer payments, foreign currency transactions, cash flow support, and financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced export environment while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to financial deadlines. Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and administration of Citrus time pools within SRCC systems.

• Prepare, process, and reconcile producer payments and remittance statements accurately and within required timeframes.

• Perform reconciliations of sales, commission, and general ledger accounts to ensure financial accuracy.

• Process commercial invoices and manage balance sheet control accounts.

• Assist with cash flow forecasting and monitor foreign exchange transactions.

• Administer and monitor foreign currency bank accounts and related currency contracts.

• Manage debtors and creditors in accordance with SRCC policies, procedures, and financial controls.

• Maintain a thorough understanding of SRCC operational and financial systems relating to citrus packing and export operations.

• Monitor and analyse overseas market performance to support financial planning, reporting, and decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and relevant regulatory requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (advantageous).

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a financial accounting role, preferably within the agricultural, fruit export, or FMCG sectors.

• Solid understanding of financial accounting principles, including cost accounting and account reconciliations.

• Experience with foreign currency transactions, banking processes, and exchange rate management will be advantageous.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

• Experience working with ERP/accounting systems such as Syspro, QX, or similar financial systems.

• Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate work under strict deadlines.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams and present financial information clearly.
