ACCOUNTANT

Introduction

My client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Accountant to lead the company's finance, treasury, shipping, inventory control, payroll, administration, compliance, and reporting functions. This is a senior management role requiring strong financial expertise, and the ability to work closely with local and international stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Manage the full accounting function, including debtors, creditors, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end reporting.

· Ensure accurate recording of sales, deliveries, supplier invoices, and office expenses.

· Review monthly management accounts, trial balance, ageing reports, and inventory reports.

· Manage cash flow and working capital requirements.

· Oversee shipping and logistics processes to ensure on-time customer deliveries.

· Ensure accurate inventory recording, valuation, and reconciliation.

· Lead the annual budgeting process.

· Manage employment contracts, salary adjustments, bonuses, and staff records.

· Ensure compliance with SARS requirements and all statutory obligations.

· Manage corporate insurance policies and renewals.

Desired Experience & Qualification

· Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.

· Minimum 5–8 years' experience in a senior finance role.

· Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, payroll, taxation, and internal controls.

· Experience managing audits and statutory compliance.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting system experience.

· Experience with payroll systems and cloud-based business applications.

· Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

· Experience in manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain environments.
