Accountant – Remote Our client, a growing accountancy firm in the UK, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team remotely. The ideal candidate will have recent UK accounting and tax experience, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Prepare UK statutory accounts for limited companies in line with relevant reporting standards (including FRS 102 and FRS 105) where applicable

• Reconcile balances, process year-end adjustments, and review bookkeeping and ledgers

• Prepare corporation tax computations, CT600 returns and supporting schedules

• Prepare accounts for property businesses, sole traders, and partnerships where required

• Complete UK Self-Assessment returns for directors, partners, landlords, and sole traders

• Maintain accurate working papers, supporting evidence, and a clear audit trail

• Self-review work, respond to review points, and complete amendments within deadlines

• Identify discrepancies, missing information, and potential tax risks, escalating issues to the UK reviewer where necessary

Requirements

• Recent hands-on experience in a UK accountancy practice or outsourced UK accounting environment

• Proven experience preparing UK limited-company accounts and corporation tax returns through review

• Experience with a varied range of UK Self-Assessment returns

• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, personal tax and corporation tax

• Familiarity with HMRC and Companies House requirements and deadlines

• Ability to investigate discrepancies, work with incomplete records, and clearly identify information still required
