Job Title: Accountant Start Date: 2026-08-16 - 2026-09-14 Vacancy Type: Permanent SW006519 Sectors: Finance Motor Industry Location: Western Cape , CPT - Northern Suburbs Salary: Brief: ACCOUNTANT Cape Town Northern Suburbs: Our client, an established and award-winning dealership within the motor industry, is seeking a thorough, organised and hands-on Accountant to join their team. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping function through to trial balance, while providing accurate financial and administrative support to the business. Detail: This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced accounting professional who takes ownership, works accurately and is comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. Xero experience is essential. Key Responsibilities Managing the full bookkeeping and accounting function through to trial balance Processing and reconciling debtors, creditors and bank accounts Managing petty cash and processing journals Preparing and processing customer invoices Assisting with payroll processing and related administration Preparing PAYE, UIF and SDL summaries Liaising with suppliers and assisting with account-related queries Processing financial transactions accurately and timeously Performing regular reconciliations and ensuring financial records are accurate and up to date Maintaining well-organised financial documentation and records Assisting with general financial and administrative duties as required Supporting the business with accurate financial information and reporting Minimum Requirements Accounting Degree / Diploma from a recognised institution Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar accounting position Proven experience working on Xero Accounting Software is essential Good knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and standards Sound knowledge of bookkeeping and financial processes Experience with payroll and statutory submissions advantageous Excellent communication skills in both English and Afrikaans Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Valid driver's licence Thorough, highly organised and detail-oriented Strong numerical and analytical ability Hard-working, motivated and reliable High level of initiative, enthusiasm and drive Ability and willingness to work longer hours when required The ideal candidate will be a hands-on and dependable accounting professional who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys taking ownership of their work and can manage a broad accounting function with minimal supervision.
