Job Title: Accountant Start Date: 2026-07-29 - 2026-08-28 Vacancy Type: Permanent PE001631 Sectors: Accounting / Auditing / Payroll Location: South Africa - Western Cape , Cape Town - Central (Athlone to Delft) Salary: (Market related) Brief: Accountant Location: Foreshore (CBD Cape Town) Detail: Our client is seeking an experienced Accountant in the Foreshore CBD area of Cape Town Role Purpose The Accountant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and financial administration of the business. The role exists to ensure that all routine accounting functions are executed accurately, timeously, and in accordance with accounting standards, thereby enabling management to focus on strategic oversight, financial planning, and value creation initiatives. Key Responsibilities Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and timeously. Maintain the debtors ledger and manage collections in line with credit policies. Oversee and assist with warehouse stock releases and related documentation. Assist with operational administration. Follow up on outstanding receivables and resolve customer account queries. Capture and process supplier invoices accurately. Assist with monthly stock reconciliations and variance investigations. Maintain the creditors ledger and reconcile supplier statements. Prepare payment runs and supporting documentation for approval. Allocate and process bank transactions and perform bank reconciliations. Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation. Assist with ad hoc financial and administrative tasks as required. Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules. Assist with month-end close procedures. Assist with audits, tax, and statutory submissions. Minimum Requirements Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA/ CIMA/ SIAPA Qualification highly advantageous 3–5 years' experience in a similar accounting role. Solid understanding of general accounting principles. Experience with accounting software. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Advantageous Requirements Experience with SAP accounting software. Ability to communicate effectively in English; Afrikaans and French would be advantageous. Experience in Trade Finance. Experience in Customs and Imports. Experience working with foreign currency transactions. Competencies and Attributes High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
