WE’RE HIRING | ACCOUNTANT

Midrand | Hybrid – minimum 3 days in office

R35,000 CTC per month, negotiable depending on experience and qualifications

Ready to take ownership of the day-to-day accounting function and grow with a business?

Our client, an established business operating across technical installations, ICT and project-based services, is appointing an Accountant to a newly created in-house role.

Working directly with the Finance & Administration Manager, you’ll help strengthen financial reporting, improve controls and build an efficient finance function.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage accounting records, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Take ownership of month-end processing and prepare management accounts and reporting packs.

• Maintain fixed asset registers, accruals and prepayments.

• Oversee debtors, creditors, supplier reconciliations and payment schedules.

• Prepare cash flow forecasts and working capital reports.

• Support budgeting, cost tracking and variance analysis.

• Prepare tax reconciliations and statutory submissions, including VAT.

• Support year-end financial statements, audit readiness and internal controls.

• Improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy and opportunities for automation.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• A relevant degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• Approximately 3–5 years’ accounting experience, including full accounting records to trial balance and monthly management accounts.

• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and the ability to apply them practically.

• Practical experience with VAT, statutory compliance, reconciliations, debtors and creditors.

• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems such as Sage, Pastel, Xero, QuickBooks, Business Central or similar.

• Completed or in-progress SAIPA articles would be advantageous, particularly exposure gained within a smaller accounting practice.

• A professional qualification such as SAIPA, CIMA, ACCA, AGA(SA) or similar would strengthen your application.

Experience within an SME, construction, engineering, mining, ICT integration or another project-based business would be advantageous. Project costing and project revenue recognition experience are beneficial, but training can be provided.
