Accountant - Johannesburg

Introduction

We are currently looking for a capable and detail-oriented Accountant to join a professional team in Illovo, Johannesburg. This role is ideal for someone with solid bookkeeping experience, the ability to manage their own client portfolio, and a good understanding of VAT and provisional tax calculations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Performing bookkeeping functions for multiple clients

• Managing and maintaining an allocated client portfolio

• Calculating VAT and provisional tax liabilities

• Communicating tax calculations and payment requirements to clients

• Maintaining accurate financial records and accounting documentation

• Ensuring that client bookkeeping is completed accurately and timeously

• Providing ongoing accounting support to clients

• Travelling to client premises when required

• Working primarily from the office while managing various client assignments

• Assisting with tax-related matters where necessary

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Proven bookkeeping and accounting experience

• Experience managing multiple clients and client portfolios

• Good understanding of VAT calculations and submissions

• Knowledge of provisional tax calculations and payments

• Tax knowledge will be an added advantage

• Strong organisational and time-management skills

• Excellent communication and client relationship skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to work independently and manage responsibilities effectively

• Willingness to travel to clients when required
