A well-established organisation is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong technical accounting knowledge and experience managing the full finance function. The successful candidate will play a key role in financial reporting, compliance, cash flow management, and supporting the business's overall financial operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparing accurate monthly financial reports and management accounts
- Performing variance analysis, including budget versus actual reporting
- Completing VAT reconciliations and submitting VAT returns
- Managing cash flow and preparing cash flow forecasts
- Monitoring and analysing profit and loss performance
- Performing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Managing intercompany loan reconciliations
- Assisting with audit preparation and year-end financial processes
- Processing payroll and ensuring payroll accuracy
- Managing supplier accounts and accounts payable functions
- Preparing financial reports and analysis using advanced Microsoft Excel functions
- Ensuring compliance with SARS and CIPC requirements
- Maintaining accurate financial records using Xero and Dext
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Relevant qualification in Accounting or Finance
- Proven experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar accounting role
- Strong financial reporting and reconciliations experience
- Experience with VAT, payroll, cash flow management, and month-end processes
- Proficiency in Xero and Dext is essential
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and dashboards
- Good understanding of SARS and CIPC requirements
- Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team
