A professional financial services environment is looking for an Accountant to join its Group Finance team and provide support across the finance function.
The role will focus on ensuring accurate and timely financial processing, reconciliations and reporting, while supporting the team in meeting monthly and annual financial deadlines. Duties & Responsibilities
This opportunity would suit an Accountant with a BCom Accounting degree, previous finance experience and strong reconciliation skills, who takes pride in accurate financial information and enjoys finding ways to improve existing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process daily payments and maintain the cash book.
- Perform bank reconciliations and month-end reconciliations.
- Handle and resolve finance-related queries.
- Assist with budgets.
- Process claims and re-insurance claims.
- Support the finance department in meeting monthly and annual financial deadlines.
- Provide general finance support to the team as required.
Job Experience and Skills Required
- BCom Accounting degree.
- Previous experience within a Finance environment is essential.
- Experience with supplier reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Basic VAT knowledge.
- Good Excel skills.
- Softline Pastel experience would be advantageous.
- Strong communication and stakeholder interaction skills.
- A passion for accurate and complete financial reporting.
- Innovative thinking with the ability to streamline and enhance existing processes.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting the wider team.
