Financial Accountant Location: East London Employment Type: Permanent Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Financial Accountant to join their finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accounting professional with completed articles who is looking to grow their career within a dynamic environment. Minimum Qualifications

• BCom Degree or BTech in Financial Accounting.

• Completed articles.

• AGA(SA) registration through SAICA or a CIMA qualification will be advantageous.

• Strong IT knowledge will be an added advantage.

• Valid driver's licence.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post standard journals for monthly management accounts.

• Manage foreign creditors and import documentation.

• Assist with creditors' functions when required.

• Prepare and reconcile VAT returns.

• Confirm inter-company balances with other branches.

• Prepare tax packs and upload them to OneSource.

• Prepare SMART packs and upload monthly financial statements to Hyperion.

• Reconcile all ledger accounts in Microsoft Excel by the 10th working day of each month.

• Prepare monthly waste reports.

• Compile treasury schedules.

• Prepare and submit Capex documentation.

• Assist with internal and external audits.

• Upload annual budgets and quarterly forecasts to Hyperion.

• Prepare statutory notes within Hyperion.

• Perform additional ad hoc finance duties as required.

Requirements

• BCom/BTech Financial Accounting qualification.

• Completed articles (essential).

• Valid driver's licence.

• Experience with ERP systems, Hyperion, OneSource, and advanced Excel will be advantageous.

Profile

We are seeking a technically strong and detail-oriented Financial Accountant with a solid background in financial reporting, month-end processes, and statutory compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment. The ideal candidate will hold a BCom or BTech in Financial Accounting , have completed SAICA articles , and possess experience preparing monthly management accounts, reconciliations, VAT returns, budgeting, forecasting, and audit support. Candidates who are AGA(SA) registered or hold a CIMA qualification will have a distinct advantage. This individual should be highly analytical, deadline-driven, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional accuracy. Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems such as Hyperion, OneSource, SAP, Syspro, Oracle, JD Edwards, or Microsoft Dynamics are highly desirable. The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• BCom or BTech in Financial Accounting.

• Completed SAICA articles (essential).

• AGA(SA) registration or CIMA qualification (advantageous).

• 3–5 years' experience as a Financial Accountant or in a similar role.

• Experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, or production environment.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, VAT, budgeting, forecasting, Capex, treasury, and month-end close processes.

• Experience preparing management accounts and financial statements.

• Exposure to internal and external audits.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

• A valid driver's licence.
