A well-established boutique auditing and accounting practice in Kenilworth is seeking an experienced Accountant/Audit Senior who has successfully completed their SAICA Articles. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and clients, providing audit, accounting, taxation and financial reporting services to a diverse portfolio of clients.

Duties & Responsibilities

A well-established boutique auditing and accounting practice in Kenilworth is seeking an experienced Accountant/Audit Senior who has successfully completed their SAICA Articles. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and clients, providing audit, accounting, taxation and financial reporting services to a diverse portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform audit assignments.
  • Prepare Annual Financial Statements in accordance with applicable reporting standards.
  • Prepare management accounts.
  • Review accounting records and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review income tax returns.
  • Prepare and review VAT returns.
  • Assist clients with accounting and financial reporting queries.
  • Prepare working papers using CaseWare.
  • Liaise directly with clients and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS for SMEs, Companies Act and tax legislation.
  • Mentor and assist junior staff where required.

Minimum Requirements

  • BCom Accounting degree.
  • Completed SAICA Articles (essential).
  • 2–5 years' experience in an accounting and auditing practice.
  • Proficient in CaseWare.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) would be advantageous.
  • Good knowledge of IFRS for SMEs.
  • Strong understanding of South African tax legislation.
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport would be advantageous.
