Are you a newly qualified CA(SA) looking to gain valuable commercial experience in a fast-paced finance environment? This contract opportunity offers hands-on exposure across the full accounting function while working alongside an established finance team. Duties & Responsibilities
Job Description
- Assist with month-end accounting processes and reporting
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
- Process journals, accruals and intercompany transactions
- Perform bank, creditor and supplier reconciliations
- Support inventory and stock-related accounting activities
- Assist with VAT and statutory compliance requirements
- Analyse financial data and investigate variances
- Prepare and maintain reports using advanced Excel
- Contribute to process improvements and finance projects
- Support the broader finance team with operational accounting responsibilities
Skills & Experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to work in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commercial mindset with a hands-on approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Exposure to inventory, distribution, FMCG or manufacturing environments advantageous
- ERP system exposure beneficial
Qualification
- Newly Qualified CA(SA) - essential
- Big 4 or reputable mid-tier/smaller audit firm experience advantageous
