Accountant (Fixed Term Contract)

Our client is a JSE-listed services group based in Johannesburg West, looking for an Accountant to join the team on a 3-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension. This role sits at the heart of the finance function, supporting the Skills Development portfolio through financial reporting, reconciliations, compliance and statutory reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage intercompany transactions and SAP master data • Process journals, accruals, reversals, and month-end activities • Prepare bank reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations • Review accounts payable, receivables, and financial controls • Manage Skills Development, IT180, bursary and learnership reporting • Prepare management reports, board packs, and budget forecasts • Process VAT, PAYE, tax payments and resolve SARS queries • Support balance sheet, profit and loss reporting and compliance • Assist operational teams with finance queries and reporting • Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and audit requirements Job Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting essential • 3 to 5 years' accounting and finance experience • SAP experience advantageous • Experience with Skills Development, IT180 submissions, bursary claims, learnership funding, and related reporting • Strong accounts payable experience • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables • Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes • Excellent analytical ability with exceptional attention to detail • Strong organisational, administration, and communication skills If you're looking for a contract where you can hit the ground running, add immediate value, and potentially turn three months into something much bigger, then we'd love to hear from you.
