Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to oversee the accounting operations of a division, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial controls, and compliance with applicable reporting standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Review and analyse accounting records, management accounts, and financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with reporting standards.

• Prepare annual financial statements and supporting audit schedules.

• Manage monthly revenue and cash reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.

• Prepare accurate balance sheet reconciliations and oversee financial reporting.

• Compile board reports and present financial information to management.

• Manage daily cash flow for the group and assist with the review and release of payments.

• Prepare income tax and deferred tax computations.

• Review and recalculate gaming taxes.

• Oversee annual budgets, financial forecasts, and budget variance analysis.

• Analyse financial performance, business trends, costs, revenues, and financial commitments.

• Ensure SARS compliance across all companies.

• Maintain up-to-date contractual agreements.

• Oversee the accounts payable team, including the review of age analyses and reconciliations.

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• BCom Honours in Accounting .

• Completed articles with a reputable audit firm.

• Minimum of 3 years' relevant work experience .

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and taxation.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Experience with accounting software and financial systems.
