Join a specialised international business serving the mining and exploration industries, where you will take full ownership of the accounting function for its Canadian business unit, working closely with senior finance leadership. This is an opportunity for a technically strong, hands-on Accountant to oversee financial reporting, working capital, debtors, creditors, inventory and fixed assets, while helping introduce and validate finance automation. If you value accuracy, accountability and long-term career growth, this role offers broad responsibility and the opportunity to improve processes in an evolving finance environment. Duties & Responsibilities
- BCom Accounting degree
- 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS, reconciliations and financial reporting
- Practical experience across general and financial accounting functions
- Knowledge of Sage Evolution Accounting and intermediate Excel skills
- End-to-end accounting experience covering the general ledger, management accounts, debtors, creditors, inventory, fixed assets and cash management
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Tech-savvy, with the ability to review and validate automated accounting outputs
- Strong ownership, organisational and communication skills, with a commitment to accuracy and deadlines
- Availability to work split hours: 08:00–14:00 in the office and 18:00–20:00 remotely from home, to accommodate the Canadian team
