Are you nearing the completion of your accounting articles and ready to take the next step in your professional accounting career? We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional to join a well-established accounting environment in Durban.
This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who is finishing up their articles and is looking to build on their practical accounting experience while developing their career within a professional accounting firm.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assisting with the preparation of annual financial statements
- Performing accounting and financial reporting duties for a portfolio of clients
- Completing reconciliations and ensuring accurate financial records
- Assisting with tax and compliance-related matters
- Performing analytical reviews and investigating variances
- Assisting with audit and assurance-related assignments where required
- Preparing working papers and maintaining accurate supporting documentation
- Liaising with clients regarding accounting and financial matters
- Providing general accounting support to senior team members
- Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Currently completing or nearing completion of SAIPA Articles
- Relevant Accounting Degree or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience within an accounting or auditing firm
- Strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge
- Experience with the preparation of financial statements
- Tax and compliance knowledge advantageous
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
